User-Level Performance Metrics Help Evaluate Retraining and Staffing Needs

Customer Problem

The customer’s clinical sites faced a host of challenges—including inadequate staffing and training—that were affecting site performance. These inefficiencies slowed data entry and cleaning, which delayed the customer’s time to market for new treatments.

USDM Solution

Using the Veeva Clinical Data Management System (CDMS) audit trail and query metadata, USDM identified sites with low performance (e.g., timeliness and accuracy of data entry). The metadata identified users who entered data outside the expected timelines and whose activities resulted in a higher-than-average number of queries.

Business Outcomes

The customer is able to address user-level performance issues with retraining and determine if sites lost or replaced high-performing staff. Clinical Research Associates (CRAs) are able to provide targeted assistance to sites that need help before problems worsen.
